RBC Bank Tribute to Teachers

RBC Bank has announced the winners of their Tribute to Teachers Contest and Morton Elementary School 1st Grade Teacher, Jennifer Zundel, is a recipient.  The Tribute to Teachers program recognizes educators who display leadership and excellence in the classroom.

Ms. Zundel's nomination was submitted by a Morton Elementary parent, Tanya Keeton.  In her nomination, she described Ms. Zundel as, "one that goes out of her way to greet all the children and parents with a smile.  She takes the time to listen to the children and tries to engage every child in her classroom.  She is always open to help with whatever is needed.  She is capable of having fun with her students, without losing control of her class.  They show her a great deal of respect.  Her class is well behaved and her students love to run up and give her big hugs everyday.  She has the added burden of helping children with deployed parents, because many of her students come from military families.  She also started a writing club at the school, which is now in its second year.  It involves students of every grade level and they produce an end of the year newspaper.  She is a very capable and caring teacher who never fails to show the children respect and kindness.  She also tries to form education plans to meet the needs of advanced and struggling children.  She is a great asset to Morton Elementary and a role model to the other teachers."

Ms. Zundel was recognized at a ceremony on June 2nd at 9:30 a.m. at her school where she was presented with a $500 check for educational supplies in her classroom.
