What to Expect in High School

New Bridge Middle Magnet School of Math, Science, and Technology opened in 1998 with a focus on math, science, and technology. New Bridge Middle follows the NC Standard Course of Study and offers a wide-variety of courses similar to other middle schools in the Onslow County School System. Any student who will be in grades 6-8 in the next school year are eligible to apply for admission.

Students who reside within the protected corridor of New Bridge Middle Magnet School are automatically enrolled due to NBMS being their district-school. These students do not need to submit an application or enter the lottery process.

For students who live outside New Bridge Middle's protected corridor an application must be submitted to enter the lottery random-selection process. Applications are available at each elementary and middle school, the Central Office, and online at www.onslow.k12.nc.us beginning in January each year. Applications must be completed online or delivered to Onslow County Educational & Technical Support Center by 5:00 on the day they are due in order for your child's name to be entered into the lottery system. No applications will be accepted by fax or email, or after the due date.

More information on all of the Onslow County Magnet School programs is available from the Division of Academic Innovation on the Onslow County Schools website. You may also contact the Onslow County Schools Division of Academic Innovation at (910) 455-2211.
