The first day of school is, Tuesday, August 25, 2009. You may register your child at their districted school anytime. Please contact the districted school to set up a time to register. Govenor Mike Easley signed House Bill 150 last year, which modified G.S. 115C-364 to become effective with the 2009-2010 school year. This is a change to the current October 16 cut-off date. Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year, students attending kindergarten must be 5 years of age on or before August 31, 2009 (see link below). http://www.ncpublicschools.org/stateboard/legal/schoolentry

Kindergarten Health Assessment-Spanish Kindergarten Health Assessment (Parent Information)-Spanish As a reminder, parents are responsible for obtaining physical assessments of their child (ren) (Senate Bill 293) and all required immunizations before school entry. Students who do not comply will have 30 calendar days from the first day of attendance to present the required immunizations and/ or health assessment. After 30 calendar days, the principal will not permit the child (ren) to attend school until the required health assessment and immunizations are presented.
