On Nov. 7, 2013, members of the 7th and 8th grade NBMS choir will attend and perform at the rededication ceremony of the Jacksonville Freedom Fountain.   The fountain is located at New Bridge Street and Johnson Boulevard, the gateway to downtown Jacksonville. The fountain honors all individuals who have served and are serving the United States of America and especially those who have passed through Onslow County in the service of their country.

Students from New Bridge Middle School were present at the original dedication on Nov. 9, 2012.  Jacksonville City Council members began this project when they endorsed a design concept for a new Freedom Fountain. The design features a disappearing edge fountain basin framed by a curved wall with arches that may later feature statues representing the five armed services. Flags and fountain jets representing federal, state, and local governments are featured as well as water jets to represent each of the 50 states.

The fountain is located at the intersection of New Bridge Street and Johnson Boulevard, in the same block as the City Hall and serves as a gateway to the downtown area at Lejeune Memorial Park with the Beirut Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and 9/11 Memorial.
