Battle of the Books is a program for middle school students, grades 6-8. Students across our state read books from a list established by the state Battle of the Books committee, and then compete in quiz-bowl-style tournaments to test their knowledge of these books.

On March 4, 2011, the New Bridge bears successfully participated in the county-level competition.  Onslow County Schools had their closest Battle of the Books Competition yet!  Twenty-eight rounds, eight middle schools, one close competition.  Jacksonville Commons Middle School won 1st place with 107 points, and New Bridge Middle won 2nd with 106 points.  Third place went to Hunters Creek Middle School with 96 points.

We are very proud of our New Bridge bears!  Go to the Principal's Blog at http://newbridgeblogging.blogspot.com/2011/03/2011-battle-of-books.html for a team picture of our winners!
